Entitlement of America

Today, I went and saw the movie “Harriet”. Very good movie. Afterwards, it has had me thinking the whole drive home. Here’s what has been going through my head:

This country, the United States of America, was founded, built, on a sense of entitlement from eastern European people. Columbus isn’t a hero for finding a “new world” but instead is the guy who stumbled upon land that was already inhabited by the Native Americans. This country wasn’t anything new, seeing how there were already people living here. The land was already occupied. It’s like breaking into a locked restroom door while someone is already using it and telling them to get off the toilet because you have to go and they no longer can have usage of it. Wtf?! Right? But, like port-a-potties have, an “occupied” and “open” latch, the Native Americans had the latch on “occupied” but the entitled Europeans broke the door down and invaded the privacy of that restroom door.

Goodbye 38, Hello 39

Today marks the beginning of year 39 in this crazy world for me. What a wild ride it’s been so far. A lot of ups and downs. A lot of flat out fucked up shit but I’ve made it through it all. I plan on continuing the trend of making it through shit too. Never give up, keeping moving forward even if it’s just a tiny step. Hell, even then, we sometimes get pushed backwards. But, it’s true what they say; an arrow must first be pulled back in order for it to go forward. Sometimes in life, we need to go backwards to move forward.
