What A Wonderful World

“What A Wonderful World”

Written by George David Weiss, Robert Thiele

Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

There is much to be said about taking time out and enjoying the moment. We all rush through life like it’s a race to see who can get to the finish line the fastest. Do you realize the finish line is death? So, basically, you are racing, I’m not sure what, to die. Why? Life really isn’t so bad if you live for the moment or for the day. You can miss out on so much by focusing on the next thing you just have to get done.
This moment, right here, right now is the only thing in life that is guaranteed. Nothing else is guaranteed, nor should really matter. What are you doing with your moments? Not paying attention? Not stopping to watch the sunrise/sunset? Not listening to your significant other because you have too much to do and not enough time to do it? Not playing with your kids because they are busy playing their video games and you are too busy doing anything but playing with your kids? Not taking a moment to just stop? Stop thinking. Stop planning. Stop rushing. Stop racing to death. Just stop. Take a breath. Just breathe. And just be in the moment. Just be.
Every moment becomes every second. Every second turns into every minute. Every minute turns into every hour.Every hour becomes every day.Every day turns into every week. Every week turns into every month. Every month becomes a year. Every year is one less you get to spend doing the things you love with the people you love. Every moment in life, whether good or bad, is a memory. It’s tucked away somewhere. You will never remember every moment but that doesn’t matter. All that matters is what you do with your moments. Take each moment, each memory and make it one you want to remember. Make it something that matters to  you.
When you start living in the moment instead of the past or the future, you become more relaxed and calm. You can’t go back to the past. The past is what got you to where you are right now. The future depends on what you do right now. The future is the next second that passes by. So, really, by living in the moment of right now, you are changing the future and creating a past. Live for today and the rest will fall into place.
Take time out and enjoy all the simple things life has to offer. By focusing on the future or even the past, you are not allowing yourself to enjoy the simple pleasures life has for you right now. The saying “Stop and smell the roses” is exactly what living in the moment is about. It’s about stopping a hectic life and enjoying the simple things in life. We all need to slow down. We rush around all crazy to go no where. Really, where are you headed? Do you even know? The store? Home? School? Work? Take time to get there. You are rushing to get somewhere you probably don’t even want to be anyway so why hurry to get there? Everyone wants to get home but for what? What will you do there? Clean the house? Cook dinner? Work on something? So, you are rushing to go no where. You aren’t rushing to do something you enjoy and even if you do, are you really in the moment of enjoying it or are you rushing through that too? Even the joys of life, people are rushing through it because they have “a million things to do.” So, why even bother? If you have to rush around like a crazy person because you have too much to do, then maybe you need to stop and smell the roses. No one should be stressed out and freaking out because they have too much crap to do. If you live in the moment, that is the only thing on your mind. Take the moment in and let it be what it is, good or bad. Then release it so you can make room for more moments.
Why worry about tomorrow when the only thing you have that is guaranteed, is right now?
Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it.  🙂
